I am so excited to blog about this wedding at the Argyle! I first heard about Stephen Karlisch when I was living on the East Coast, and it was an absolute pleasure to second shoot for him at this gorgeous San Antonio wedding. He is extremely talented and so much fun! It was truly a beautiful day, and every single guest had a wonderful time.
The ceremony took place at Christ Episcopal Church in the Monte Vista district of San Antonio. Christ Episcopal is over 100 years old, with elegant white arched ceilings and intricate stained glass. I had a great bird’s eye view from the balcony – the perfect perspective to catch the bride’s cathedral length veil as she made her entrance. Delicate white flower details appeared as a motif throughout the day – from appliqués on the gown to the stunning Chanel shoes, to the table linens and towering centerpieces. For the reception, the party moved to The Argyle, a private club just north of downtown San Antonio. I am obsessed with blue and white china (it’s all over my house!) so the décor really resonated with me. A mariachi band made for a lively touch, and guests danced on a gleaming white floor emblazoned with the couple’s bespoke monogram. This beautiful, artistic detail also appeared on custom pins given to each guest as they left the celebration. Such a sweet, unique gift!
It was so wonderful to work with Sweet August Events for the first time. Sweet August is a true treasure in San Antonio, I started following them on Instagram when I was still in VA and I reached out to owner/creative director Katherine Lopez as soon as I moved to town. Katherine received me with open arms, so it was such a wonderful coincidence to find that she was planning this wedding. It was a stunner! I hope you enjoy the photos.
