This is shaping up to be a year of travel and I can’t complain! Most recently, I found myself in Manhattan for a Central Park engagement session with Karen and Chris. These two are so kind, and I had such a wonderful time with them, exploring the Park and the front steps of the beautiful NYC Public Library.
Karen and Chris are now based in New York, but they have a strong connection to the town where they met…Washington, DC. There, they both wound up at an evening event at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, and something just clicked! Eight years later (after a long-distance stint while Karen got her MBA), they found themselves back at the Hirshhorn, in the same spot where they’d met. Only this time, Chris had covered it with candles and flowers and he asked Karen to be his wife! Of course, she said ‘Yes’!
When we met up for our morning session, Karen and Chris arrived with a coffee for me. So sweet! We started early to try and miss the big Central Park crowds, and I’m glad we did. The park is always amazing, but the morning seems to be an extra-special time there. With fewer people around, Karen and Chris could really enjoy the scenery and each other for these photos. We had a lovely chat as we strolled, and then hopped into a cab to head to our second location, the New York Public Library. Many people don’t know this, but before I fell in love with photography I got a Bachelor’s in business in Brazil and Karen has a business degree as well! So we hit it off immediately, and soon found ourselves discussing our love of numbers and spreadsheets! A girl after my own heart! 🙂 I’m already looking forward to Karen and Chris’ big day in October – and I hope you enjoy this selection of photos from their NYC engagement session!
